About ENTECH

Fitting Out of Our New Production Facility Is Proceeding According to Plan!

The Photos Below Were Taken June 5, 2008. Move-in Is Expected in July.

Entech new building

ENTECH, based in Keller, Texas is a subsidiary of WorldWater & Solar Technologies. ENTECH builds and distributes turnkey, fully installed solar systems for its customers using advanced, patented concentrator photovoltaic or “CPV” solar technology for a variety of commercial and utility scale applications.

Originally developed for use in space, the exclusive design of ENTECH’s curved acrylic Fresnel lenses captures sunlight and focuses it onto small solar cells, making it ideal for commercial solar use. This development has resulted in greatly reduced electricity costs compared to conventional flat-plate solar technology. The performance and reliability of ENTECH’s CPV technology is proven and has been demonstrated by  the U.S. Department of Energy for over 10 years – setting ENTECH apart from other manufacturers as the only CPV manufacturer with an extensive track record of proven reliability, with no degradation.

Advantages:

  • Years of Proven CPV Operating History
  • Extremely Low Cost Per Watt Installed
  • Most Reliable CPV Available on the Market
  • Third Party Verified
  • No Silicon Shortage Issues - Uses only 5% the Amount of Silicon Needed for Conventional Systems

How Does ENTECH’s Advanced Solar Technology Work?

ENTECH’s uniquely designed photovoltaic or “PV” concentrator cell is a modified version of the crystalline silicon cell that is used in flat plate PV panels. The major difference is that the metalized grid on the concentrator cell’s surface conducts 20 times more electrical current. As a result, the cell has a larger metalized conductive grid, and ENTECH’s optically clear prismatic cell cover is bonded to the cell to refract incoming light away from the grid onto the silicon. The system employs two axis tracking modules and is mounted in a supporting frame. The support structure is made from readily available structural galvanized steel materials.

Unbeatable Competitive and Cost Advantages

The selling price of ENTECH competes directly or beats all solar PV competitors including manufacturers of flat panel, crystalline, poly crystalline, ribbon or thin film – whether it is installed for distributed generation or for central power plants, anywhere in the world. ENTECH can deliver the last kWh (and BTU) over the last mile of an energy transmission at a lower cost than conventional fuel based power plants. In addition, unlike other solar technologies, ENTECH’s technology can deliver both electricity and heat (cooling) competitive to retail energy prices.

ENTECH issued 13 patents to protect its state-of-the-art solar technologies and established more than 15 world records in conversion of sunlight to electricity. Several more patent applications are planned for 2008.
